What is Somatic Exercise?

In the simplest of terms, Somatic exercise or movement is one which is performed with the focus being on the internal sensations and feelings within the body as opposed to the external appearance.

Somatic Exercise incorporates deep breathing with slow, gentle movements. It helps to increase body awareness, develop a deep understanding of habitual posture and movement patterns, and can help release involuntary muscle tension associated with those habitual postures or movement patterns.
